Water is the third film of the trilogy after Fire and Earth by Deepa Mehta. It takes place during the time when Mahatma Ghandi was bringing about social change, infusing the spirit of nationalism into the Indian consciousness. Water, is a film about the social plight of Indian widows in the 1930s. The main protagonist is an Indian girl who is widowed at the age of nine and forced to enter the "widow house". Though widows are forbidden to remarry according to Hindu scripture, one widow finds love outside the ashram. Though a beautiful but tragic love story, Water is a story of hope and triumph of the human spirit where personal "conscience" seeks victory over dogmatic scripture as the director poses the question "Is conscience more important than faith"? An Oscar nominee, the filming of Water engaged itself in own social revolution. Through threats of violence from organized opposition and major Indian fundamentalist groups, the film's producers fought and won the right of expression and free speech. The film took 4 years to finish.

V for Vendetta: One of the best, most creative movies I have ever seen. Underlying the entire script is the reality of what is actually going on in the United States and Britain. Cleverly crafted, it is an entertainment spectacle replete with love, avenge, justice and a message to the masses. Many movies of this sort are perceived as just entertainment, but for those who are awake, we applaud...we stand up and applaud...the person's behind and in front of this film. God bless you.
The Long Kiss Goodnight
Produced before the 911 event, The Long Kiss Goodnight, produced by Gena Davis's former husband, is another GREAT action move that tried to warn us of the upcoming event of 911. Cleverly couched as an action packed spy flick, this movie is real enough. Americans, in a somnambulant paralysis believing 911 was the act of foreign terrorists, might well be served to see this movie to wake up to the reality that the concept of 911 was in development long before it happened. This is another well done cinema triumph of concerned world citizens behind the camera waking us up. One by one, perhaps, people will wake up to the reality these movies are trying to communicate to us. It is an older movie...but well worth seeing for its perfect timing, humor, skill in every way. And if you didn't wake up then...there is always NOW.

Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey, Jr., Woody
Harrelson and Wynona Ryder. Those of this
generation that haven't experienced some of the
dimensional shifts created by the use of illegal
and/or legal drugs can hardly know the alternate
neural connections established in those who have
had their neurotransmitters tweaked. However,
Scanner Darkly connects the most subtle of dots
effectively communicating on a deep level to
those who have submitted to having their neural
pathways altered. This is an important
interactive film...interactive in as much as it
is not a passive film but a means of
communicating, en masse, a warning about being
controlled by BioPharm.
Did you know that LSD was patented by Eli Lilly,
the maker of Prozac, the first SSRI, in the
1950s? Did you know that Angel Dust was another
Big Pharma product? Methamphetamine is a major
problem amongst our street youth today and can
be made from over the counter components such as
Sudafed.
The
Exorcism: Anti Psychiatric forces might be well served to be aware of this movie. It seems unfortunate that the trailer to this movie makes it appear like just another horror story. However, The Exorcism of Emily Rose is based on a true story. Much of the movie takes place in the Courtroom where the prosecutor insists that the only treatment is the medical model and the DSM (Diagnostic Statistical Manual).
Once again, this is another movie communicating a message to society about how the system gets away with forcing medical treatment on us, disregarding our personal beliefs and personhood.
I don't want to take away any surprises, but in one scene an expert witness (remember this is based on a true story) tells the Court that the drug Emily is taking anesthetizes the
brain (Sounds like an SSRI). She goes so far as to accuse the drug company of wrongdoing;
